Over the past 40 years we have traveled throughout the U.S. working with companies in Industries from Health & Beauty to Aerospace, expanding our product lines, knowledge, equipment and staff.

Our History

Through the Years

1979

MWS got its start in Material Handling Sales and Installation Services in 1979 with the Erickson family and was formerly named Midwest Storage Equipment Co. With the Sales & Installation focus around Pallet Rack & Conveyor for Distribution and Store Fixtures for Retail where there was a 22 relationship with a Lumber Retailer we provided exclusive Design, Sales and Installations for Retail Stores and Lumber yards. This was also the start of our 46 year relationship with Unarco Material Handling for all of our Pallet Rack projects that would lead us to one of Hy-Vee’s first distribution centers in Chariton, IA and Cherokee, Wells Blue Bunny, Hillshire Farms, 3M just to name a few.

2003

In 2003, we changed the name of the company—MWS, Inc. was formed. We expanded sales and our product lines to include mezzanines and vertical shuttles, and began selling and installing across the country. While we represented one brand of VLM machines, we were often contracted by other manufacturers to dismantle, relocate, or install for projects around the Midwest. Our installation and service work for VLM machines became quite extensive, outpacing our own sales of the product. Our crews were working in states across the country, also contracting installation work for companies like Stanley Vidmar, as well as other integrators and resellers.

2010

MWS began offering crane handling equipment and quickly found success with small to medium-sized projects, including 1 to 2-ton closed track bridge crane sales and installations, as well as tear-downs and relocations. To this day, our crane focus remains centered around 1 to 5-ton projects for small to medium-sized manufacturing companies looking to solve lifting and handling challenges and achieve immediate results.

2017

MWS, Inc. was purchased by Tim and Brandy Hennigar, who collectively have 50 years of material handling sales and administration experience.

2022

We partnered with Rousseau Metal Company & Kundel Cranes and quickly found great success. We will continue the MWS, Inc name with plans to grow the company’s capacity and leadership with our valued partners, many we have been with for the past 46 years.
